Our Medical Team
We have highly skilled and experienced board certified and fellowship trained bariatric surgerons affiliated with our program. A multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals play an important role in our successful program. These include bariatric surgeons, psychologists, nurses, dieticians and respiratory therapists. Our staff is specially trained in caring for the needs of our patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting.

Douglas Krahn, MD

Douglas Krahn, MD, FACS, is a fellowship-trained, board-certified bariatric surgeon and the Medical Director for Parkview Center For Surgical Weight Loss. He completed his fellowship training in bariatric surgery at the Broward Center for Obesity Surgery in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and his surgical residency at Loma Linda University. His medical degree and undergraduate degrees were completed at UC Davis. Dr. Krahn performs the gastric bypass, lap-band and revisions. He is a current member of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has performed over 2000 bariatric surgeries during his seven years of practice. Dr. Krahn is committed to the specialty of bariatric surgery and to his patients, and his goal is helping patients achieve a tremendous improvement in their health and quality of life.
John L. Coon, MD
John L. Coon, MD, FACS is a board certified surgeon and a member of the American Society for Bariatric Surgeons. He completed his surgical residency at the University of New Mexico and attended medical school at the University of Illinois. Dr. Coon has been performing bariatric surgery since 2003. He performs the gastric bypass , the lap-band and revisions.
Kam Zainabadi, MD
Kam Zainabadi, MD is a board certified surgeon, fellowship trained in bariatric surgery and minimally invasive surgery. He completed his fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and his surgical residency and medical degree at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Zainabadi performs the lap band procedure.
